Chocolate Chip Cookies

Recipe adapted from VeryBestBaking
- * Prep. Time : 20 minutes
* Cook Time : 9 - 11 minutes
* Makes : 60 cookies
Ingredients :
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour ( I had to increase the flour to about 2 3/4 to 3 cups as the cookies were turning out flat )
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt ( I used only 1/4 tsp. )
- 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups (12-oz. pkg.) Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels ( I used only 1 1/2 cups )
- 1 cup chopped nuts ( I used only 1/2 cup almonds )
- Preheat oven to 375° F.
- Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl.
- Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy.
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in morsels and nuts.
- Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
- I baked a test cookie before baking an entire batch. As it was spreading too much ( the cookie was very thin & flat ), I had to increase the flour. Just start adding & mixing little by little more flour into the dough.
- Refrigerate the dough until well-chilled.
- Also, I slightly under baked these; just until the cookies were golden around the edges and soft in the center.
