Hab-el-hal or Cardamom Cookies ... A recipe from Palestine. They are best served with coffee, tea or milk. These cookies are delicious and the flavor is wonderful!
Hab-el-hal or Cardamom Cookies

* Prep. Time : 20 minutes
* Cook Time : 10 - 12 minutes
* Makes : 42 cookies, depending on the size
Ingredients :
- 1/2 cup softened butter
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 3/4 cups flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. cardamom
- 1/8 cup milk
- Preheat oven to 180 C.
- Cream together egg, sugar, and butter in a medium mixing bowl.
- Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cardamom.
- Slowly add to egg & butter mixture and mix well.
- Add milk, if required to form dough.
- Roll out dough on lightly floured surface. You want the dough to be about 1/8 inch thick. Use cookie cutters to make shapes.
- Place on a lined cookie sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes.
