Black Chickpeas Chaat ( Kalay Chanay Ki Chaat )

Black Chickpeas Chaat ( Kalay Chanay Ki Chaat ) is a popular snack. Easy to make, delicious & healthy!

Black Chickpeas Chaat

Serves : 4

Ingredients :
  • 250 gm.  black chickpeas ( kala chana )
  • 1/2 cup tamarind pulp ( or according to taste )
  • 1 large tomato, diced
  • 1 large onion, finely diced
  • 1 tsp.  salt
  • 1/2 to 1 tsp.  red chilli powder
  • 1/2 to 1 tsp.  chaat masala
  • 2 tbsp.  chopped coriander leaves
  • 2 green chillies, chopped
Method :
  • Wash & soak black chickpeas ( kala chana ) overnight in water ( or at-least 3 - 4 hours ).
  • Drain water & place soaked chickpeas in a large pan and cover completely with water. 
  • Cook covered until done. Remove from heat and drain the water. ( This can also be cooked in a pressure cooker ). 
  • Place chickpeas in a bowl, add all the remaining ingredients.
  • Toss with chickpeas until well coated.
  • Delicious chaat is ready to serve.
