Black Chickpeas Chaat ( Kalay Chanay Ki Chaat ) is a popular snack. Easy to make, delicious & healthy!
Black Chickpeas Chaat

Serves : 4
Ingredients :
- 250 gm. black chickpeas ( kala chana )
- 1/2 cup tamarind pulp ( or according to taste )
- 1 large tomato, diced
- 1 large onion, finely diced
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 to 1 tsp. red chilli powder
- 1/2 to 1 tsp. chaat masala
- 2 tbsp. chopped coriander leaves
- 2 green chillies, chopped
- Wash & soak black chickpeas ( kala chana ) overnight in water ( or at-least 3 - 4 hours ).
- Drain water & place soaked chickpeas in a large pan and cover completely with water.
- Cook covered until done. Remove from heat and drain the water. ( This can also be cooked in a pressure cooker ).
- Place chickpeas in a bowl, add all the remaining ingredients.
- Toss with chickpeas until well coated.
- Delicious chaat is ready to serve.

Yummy! Chana chats are not just delicious they're highly nutritious too. I usually make chat with white chana and curry with the black variety :)
