Strawberry Jam Cake Squares


Strawberry Jam Cake Squares ... Simple & easy to make cake squares, drizzled with jam and topped with almonds. Feel free to use any jam you like. I used my favorite homemade strawberry jam. Enjoy as breakfast, afternoon tea or as a dessert.

Strawberry Jam Cake Squares

Ingredients :

For Cake :
  • 100 gm.  cake flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp.  baking powder
  • 50 gm.  ( 1 large ) egg
  • 50 gm.  melted butter
  • 50 gm.  yogurt
  • 50 gm.  sugar
  • 1/4 tsp.  vanilla essence
For Topping :

Method :
    • Line the base and sides of a 7 inch square pan with aluminum foil.
    • Sift cake flour and baking powder in a bowl. Keep aside.
    • Combine egg and melted butter in a bowl. Whisk until smooth.
    • Whisk in yogurt. Add sugar and vanilla; whisk until smooth.
    • Fold in the flour mixture until smooth.
    • Pour the mixture into the pan. Flatten the surface, using spatula.
    • Drizzle the surface with strawberry jam ( use a plastic bag to work easily ). Sprinkle with sliced almonds on top.         
    • Bake at 180 C for 20 - 25 minutes until golden brown.
    • Remove from oven, let stand 5 minutes in the pan. Carefully remove foil from cake. 
    • Cut in squares and serve.
