Paula Deen's Orange Brownies


Paula Deen's Orange Brownies ... A refreshing change from traditional chocolate brownie. Light, moist and delicious with amazing orange flavor!

Paula Deen's Orange Brownies

Makes :  9 large squares


Ingredients :

For Brownies :
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 tsp.  salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp.  fresh orange juice
  • 1 tbsp.  grated orange zest
For Orange Glaze :
  • 1 cup icing / confectioners’ sugar
  • 2 tbsp.  orange juice
  • 1 tsp.  grated orange zest


Method :
  • Preheat oven to 180 C / 350 F. Grease an 8" square baking pan and set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, stir together flour, sugar and salt.
  • Add softened butter, eggs, orange juice and zest. Beat with an electric mixer until well blended.
  • Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 20 - 25 minutes or until light golden brown and set.
  • Remove from oven and pierce top of entire cake with a fork.
  • Combine the glaze ingredients in a bowl and stir well until smooth.
  • Pour half glaze over hot cake and let cool.
  • Spread remaining glaze over cake to cover the top and let set. Cut into squares.
