Homemade Instant Chocolate Pudding ... Quick, easy and simple to prepare chocolate pudding recipe. This light and creamy pudding is made from scratch with milk, brown sugar, cornstarch, egg yolks and chocolate.

*******************************************

Serves : 6

Ingredients :
    • 2 cups milk
    • 2 egg yolks
    • 1/4 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
    • 2 tbsp.  cornstarch
    • 4 oz.  semi or bittersweet chocolate, finely chopped
    • 1/2 tsp.  vanilla extract

      Method :
      • In a saucepan, whisk together the milk and egg yolks. Add the brown sugar and cornstarch; whisk to mix well.
      • Set the pan over medium heat and bring to a simmer, stirring constantly with a heatproof rubber spatula or a wooden spoon until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture begins to bubble around the edges of the pan, about 5 minutes.
      • Cook gently, stirring constantly, for 1 minute more, then remove from the heat.
      • Stir in the chocolate until melted and smooth, then stir in the vanilla.
      • Spoon the pudding into 6 ramekins, serving bowls or dessert glasses; dividing evenly and smooth the tops.
      • To prevent a skin from forming, place a piece of waxed paper or plastic wrap directly on the surface of each pudding. Refrigerate until well chilled.
      • Serve cold with a dollop of whipped cream on top, if you like.

      Note :
      • For making Mexican chocolate pudding, add ( 1/2 tsp.  ground cinnamon ) and ( 1/8 tsp.  cayenne pepper ) along with brown sugar.

        1. Preetha, press the plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the pudding. But if you like skin on puddings, do not cover it :)
